I had a bit of a learning curve but since that seems to be an typical issue for me and most ordinary people when I am learning any new software, I am not downgrading my rating for this program due to that.

This software, compared to previous versions, has improved a great deal. I’ve used previous versions of PD I don’t remember which version where there wasn’t much variety in the creativity department and the rendering reeked havoc on my system.

This version seems to compete with Adobe, or at least try, with options like body shaping, retouching and content aware removal. It was easy to set this software up. Took only a few minutes from start to finish.

I don’t know about previous versions, but this version has a compatible app and cloud storage space up to 50G. That may seems like a lot, but it isn’t when you’re a family vlogger like me.

But this is the standard for FREE cloud solutions, then you are given the option to convert to a paying side that gives you more storage space. It also has a digital download link, which is what I use.

If you are looking for a low cost alternative to create nice photos and videos, and you don’t have the time to learn a more advanced software like Adobe, or if you don’t have the money to fork out for an expensive creative suite, then I’d say this would be a good option. Even as an Adobe user, I revert back to more simpler software like Powerlink, Corel and other design suites. In the past, I’ve always found Cyberlink software kind of cheap and fly by night.

That is no longer the case. While not as polished as some other editors I’ve used, the interface is now very stream lined and much simpler to use. Not only can you be up and going on video editing, but Photo Director is much easier that it has been in the past.

From photo organizing to touching up the pictures, everything is so much easier than it was in the past. Video editing was a joy so much so that I may use this full time. Importing video from video files was very simple though I wasn’t able to import via a firewire video camera.

Once the video was imported, all of the tools needed to cut, edit and add transitions were easy to find and implement. Sometimes I’d have to go back and fill gaps when the auto gap fill wasn’t working but it wasn’t a biggie. Having both of these bundling is a fantastic value and I would choose this over competing brands. I have been using Cyberlink PhotoDirector for years I got tired of paying Adobe fees, as I am not a pro anymore Feature set keeps growing, Cyber web site does a great job showing features n benefits But my new obsession is deg video I admit, I am in over my head, and struggling to get the features to work in , as always, it takes time to climb the learning curve ladder The interface on this is very intuitive and similar to several others on the market and easy to use.

My first video created on this took about an hour combining stills with shortened video clips, adding transitions and intro. Overlaying text was simple and looked very nice. On one edit I blurred out a face for several frames and it came out looking better than what they do on the news My only gripe with this was the install procedure.

It was overly long and drawn out over two disks. Instead of going with the more modern installer that will ask you what features you’d like to install at once, you need to install each feature independently.
