Power Pivot is an add-in that you can use to perform powerful data analysis in Excel. The add-in is built into certain versions of Office, but by default, it’s not enabled. If you have other versions of the Power Pivot add-in installed, those versions are also listed in the COM Add-ins list.
Be sure to select the Power Pivot add-in for Excel. This is the tab where you work with Power Pivot PivotTables, calculated fields, and key performance indicators KPIs , and creating linked tables. Here you can click Get External Data to use the Table Import Wizard to filter data as you add it to your file, create relationships between tables, enrich the data with calculations and expressions, and then use this data to create PivotTables and PivotCharts.

The latest build of V2 is available for download at the Microsoft website. I suggest giving it a try. It will either install or it wont — either way you will know. Now you may have got to this point and are now wondering which version you have installed. But there is an easy way to check. You first need to make sure the Plugin is enabled.
You will then see this dialogue. If you can see the Power Pivot Add-in, then you know it is installed. Make sure the check box is selected so you can use it. Same applies for Power Query. If you have this button, then you have V2 — which is good. There is no Addin available. Next you will see a list of available Add-ins.
If you have Power Pivot, it will be visible in this list.
